Mason City woman guilty of second drunk driving offense

MASON CITY – A Mason City woman is guilty of a second drunk driving offense.

Mason City police were dispatched fo a traffic collision back on the evening October 29, 2016. As a result of an investigation, Lindsey Alyssa Isaacson was arrested on a charge of first-offense operating while intoxicated. She later pled guilty and was sentenced to two days in jail and $1,797.50 in fines and court fees. Court records show her wages were garnished until late in 2018.

On June 29, 2019, Isaacson, age 30, was arrested by Iowa State Patrol in Cerro Gordo county and charged with second-offense operating while intoxicated and open container of alcohol. This month, she pled guilty to the drunk driving charge while the open container charge was dismissed. She was sentenced to seven days in jail and $2,641.25 in fines and court fees.

Now threatening message to shut down NIT “if you wanted to do some coding” for as you stated reporting FACTS, wether you think they are irrelevant or not doesn’t matter. It appears defenders use the anonymous reply also so get off your high horse. People associated with this lady more they comment continue to show how unprofessional and no integrity as stated below. Maybe United Way
Head quarters need tagged in this feed so they can legitimately see people’s concerns with donor apprehension and why.

Seems like a lot of people like to talk it’s easy to hide behind an anonymous thread everyone can make mistakes no excuse for that but I’m sure that a lot of people that commented have done far worse things that they’ve never been caught for pretty sad that North Iowa law enforcement targets individuals that have any kind of name in this town…

North Iowa is a piss poor area to live in nothing but a bunch of white trash hillbillies that have nothing else better to do than to sit around and knock people that are better looking more successful and far more wise than they’ll ever be.

Congrats to those who feel good about bringing up irrelevant facts about someone’s personal life on a bullshit low budget website like http://www.northiowatoday.com I could get the site shut down in 2 seconds if I wanted to do some coding

It still amazes us , now you’re blaming law enforcement for picking this lady up for criminal activity? Isn’t that their JOB. Pretty sure that if this lady didn’t partake in criminal activity the police/law wouldn’t be involved in her life. It’s not her NAME that she’s in the court system, it’s strictly due to her own criminal behavior, lack of responsibility for it, and she continues to break the law. What is it that this lady isn’t understanding about that? For one thing her name means nothing to people, EXCEPT THOSE OF US THAT RECOGNIZED IT AS DEALING WITH HER WITH UNITED WAY OF NORTH IOWA AND BUSINESS , employee, and outside donations. People because concerned about safety of donations and integrity of the UNITED WAY BUSINESS. People find it hard to donate if their trust and integrity is compromised. This lady shows NONE of the characteristics of an UNITED WAY EMPLOYEE representing our country’s moto of caring, trust, responsibly, morals and integrity. As her or friends responses on these posts reflect this lady seems to have no clue what morals or integrity is. She down plays her criminal activity, blames others for being caught, belittles law enforcement for doing their job, oddly thinks her name means something, or her average looks plays a part, and if this job was a very good job for her , well she should have represented UNITED WAY in a professional manner with morals and integrity. Her responses, or friend’s responses and threats are clearly indicators that this lady has no clue about adulthood and responsibilities of a very important professional job. NIT is a public news source wether you like it or not. Usually reporting on the good and bad news, not being swayed by people. Which in many opinions is the BEST way of reporting the news. Sometimes his opinion and stance comes through on some reports but you know exactly where he stands and has the integrity to still report the good and bad. He has stayed strong in reporting the criminal behaviors of this county so we all can be aware of what is being hidden from the public and taxpayers. Usually it’s those that are exposed, criminal behavior, or ripping the county off are the ones who don’t like NIT and always threatening to shut him down. Everyone has a voice. In this case it was concern from businesses, employee donators and private donators of UNITED WAY.

Anonymous probably wouldn’t have been used by many, if when it was questioned to UNITED WAY OF NORTH IOWA the response was none, except a FB message response by a “Myles Lee” threatening you keep mouths shut on this issue about someone they care about otherwise those questioning would pay a price. STILL NOT A REFLECTION OF A PROFESSIONAL UNITED WAY EMPLOYEE. Which produced bigger concerns of this person managing UNITRD WAY, by businesses and employee donors and outside donors/sources.

Who ever posted she hasn’t drank since her last OWI I believe is totally incorrect. Her OWI was 6/29/19 but sentenced Dec 2019 and she has been in public bars drinking and other places. All I see are lies and excuses for her on here. Also whoever posted she would never put anyone in danger driving drunk?? What do you call an accident OWI and an OWI with an open container? These are the only times she’s been caught “ not putting anyone in danger driving drunk “ Obviously she still doesn’t grasp what is against the law, or that she needs to follow them.

When United Way of North Central Iowa was informed and questioned about trust, safety of funds. There was no response. They must of talked with her or it was her because there was a response by a Miles Lee, a threatening message giving a wise tip to not report anything to someone who means a lot to him otherwise there would be a price to pay. That was Dec 17th. So no I don’t think this lady should be in charge of anything and also think her behavior is dangerous along with the company she seems to keep. Hopefully non of United way computers were used to send threats. The community, businesses, employee donators and outside donators have a right to ask or have their concerns addressed with out being threatened.

Friend of Bill’s
More people are killed DAILY by SOBER drivers than by DRUNK drivers.
More people die in cars then when bicycling.
There we go, outlaw cars.

“Back in 2003, Iowa lawmakers, and many in other states, did drop the drinking limit from .10 Blood Alcohol Content (BAC) to the current .08. But state senator Rob Hogg of Cedar Rapids, who was in the Iowa House then, remembers it wasn’t the argument for safer roads that finally persuaded a majority of Iowa lawmakers”

“The reason why it passed is because of the threat of loss of highway funds. And even with that, there were a number of people who voted against the change,” Hogg remembered.

Passing the lower blood alcohol limit then qualified Iowa for $45.6-million in incentive road funds from the federal government over the following three years.

you all are saying she is great and didn’t do anything wrong. well that’s why there is laws made to protect the citizens. if its the .08 law or what ever. she must have tested .08 or more or she would not have been charged, its that simple. .08 affects different persons in different ways. a 80 lb woman against a 350 pound one would act different at the same .08, what you had to eat, how much sleep, how fast you drank to get to .08 are all factors. its still the point you tested .08 which is against the law.!!!

.08 is BULL. It used to be 1.0 and the whiners got it reduced. It didn’t cut down drinking, it just ruined lives and made criminals out of good tax paying citizens.

The “whiners” you refer too may have had good reason to seeking the lowering of the blood alcohol content limits from 1.0 to .08. Is it possible they had a family member or loved on killed or injured by someone who was driving drunk?

What did your state senator and representative say when you contacted them voicing your opposition to lowering the BAC from 1.0 to .08?

If you drive and are caught with a BAC at or above .08 you can expect to be charged with a DUI. It’s that simple.

Well she tested over .08 and was the driver with an open container, she was also charged with during this 2nd OWI. So I think it’s irrelevant arguing about.08 to 1.0 when shes already drunk driving PLUS drinking while drunk driving… she’d test over 1.0 by the time she finished her open container anyway. She has a criminal record back to 2005. Charges of consumption, drinking underage, purchasing of alcohol of person younger, drug paraphernalia charge, driving while license revoked or suspended, violations of permit limitations, failure to maintain control, theft, ongoing criminal mischief in 2013, dismissed in 2016 after what ever help she may provided police and 2 OWI’s . The biggest question is she was manager at UNITED WAY IF NORTH CENTRAL IOWA up until a few days ago. How did United Way miss or ignore all this criminal behavior on her background and be put in a position dealing with personal, business and company donations into the hundred thousands of dollars?? This girl appears to have no accountability or regard for any laws still to this day. How are donators and businesses suppose to trust money would be handled accordingly?? United way is supposed to be about trust, morals and integrity. They sure let the ball drop with this employee.

Well, I went through what I could find. I found a couple of driving permit violations, could be she was 5 minutes late for “curfew” time, of was speeding(one of them was speeding).
Drinking as a minor(we’re in north Iowa, that is like 99% of us).
Yes, she just got her second OWI, bad choices. On the other hand, no worse than the idiots who speed down the road during bad weather. Middle of January a couple of years ago, I was on the road. Conditions were not that good, I probably should have stayed home. I’m rolling along at around 40 mph(I was visibly catching up to other people) some fool whipped out to go around me, they proceeded to slide from gravel to gravel fishtailing. they finally get straightened out and take off like I’m standing still. They were a bigger danger to others than she has been.
The Criminal mischief was dismissed as soon as it went in front of a judge(Poster said she was charged in 2013 and dismissed in 2016,NOPE. Charged 9/08/13– dismissed 11//12/13, far cry from 2016 huh.) . I know this is hard for a certain somebody to figure out, but even a police officer can make a mistake/have a bad day.
Last, but not least, she tried to buy/had possession of alcohol when she was 19.
For the record, I do not know Lindsey Alyssa Isaacson. What I see is someone in the comment section of NIT trying to be a keyboard warrior, bully, and all around asshole to someone that they obviously have a grudge against/hate/ just want to make as miserable as they themselves are.

It is people like Anonymous, Iwas There, and Ohdub Yueye that drag others down so they can try to feel good about themselves. Well, “Great Job!!”, there, now you all can feel so proud of yourselves. I wish you could hear the condescension and sarcasm that was dripping off that.

Look in the filings for the criminal mischief, click on it not discharged until 2016. The other date is when decision of conditions. Under filing you can see it wasn’t dismissed until 2016 when conditions meet were completed. You left out the driving whilst revoked charges, drug paraphernalia charges, 3-4 underage or buying as a minor, the criminal mischief was for theft, drinking accidents, and open containers. So yeah when actually looking at it , it shows a person who has zero respect for following laws, paying bills, or accountability. All I read on here is EXCUSES by her and a couple friends trying to down play what she truly is. A criminal.

Sounds like this young woman is well loved. The shame they bring on her is a two way street. People that leave a bar are guilty of driving while under the influence. How many bars in the city? One drink equals guilty. Bust them all. Fireman drink beer after fires in the volunteer world. Bust them. See a policeman in a bar off duty. Gulity. Bust them too. Drunk driving mayor. Bust ‘em. People attending city functions with wine and cheese party. Bust them all. Or look the other way…like they do.

The bigger question is how did United Way of North Central Iowa have this gal as manager with a huge criminal record back to 2005, OWI’s, numerous alcohol charges, drug paraphernalia charge, theft, with on going criminal mischief dismissed after 3 years in 2016 with police support, numerous driving offenses including driving while revoked. Definitely the person to be managing UNITED WAY OF NORTH CENTRAL IOWA . Donors and Businesses should be aware of this type of behavior, how are people even supposed to trust funds, accounts and such are/were handled right?

Most listed on Iowa courts are after she’s 18 anyway the worst offenses are. Yikes and United Way employed her to manage huge donations and represent them? That alone is a huge concern. I would not want this lady in charge of anything especially community donations. United Way should be checking their/our donation accounts.

The criminal mischief 4th degree theft was in 2013. As a lot of her other charges drug paraphernalia, 2016 accident OWI, 2019 OWI, open container(driving drunk while drinking) garnished wages due to non payment of 2016 OWI and garnishments to credit card and bill places in 2012/13. Not someone who should be employed to mange money donation funds.

I hate how people say she’s lucky she didn’t kill someone. She wasn’t even impaired and was only pulled over for a license plate light If people only knew the details instead of just what’s written. Her first was not a traffic collision but a fender bender in a private parking lot. And she gets a second and you immediately assume she was wasted, putting lives in danger. She also had a passenger with her who contributed to her charges that night. People are charged with OWI’s at .08, the legal BAC, at which many people choose to drive. There was no reckless driving involved, just a simple traffic stop. Lindsey has never put anyone’s life in danger while drinking and has not had a drink since the most recent incident. It’s not fair to judge someones actions and make assumptions just from the surface facts.

Look up her criminal record. This isn’t a great lady. 14 years of changes that she has continuously no regard for the law or paying her bills. Alcohol charges, failure to maintain control, driving while revoked, unlawful consumption, drug paraphernalia, open container, OWI’s , theft with on going criminal mischief (dismissed 3 years later in 2016) with cooperation. This girl seems to put people at risk for 15 years of criminal driving offenses. This last time she was drunk driving while drinking while she was driving, and you’re trying to tell us she isn’t putting anyone in danger? I think a few of you are delusional right along with her.

What was her BAC then for this last OWI? Or her first? The first was an accident OWI, which poster down played saying it was just a “fender bender “ in a private parking lot. Doesn’t matter where it happened. Well it was called in, there was damage and she was charged. It’s probably a good thing the accident happened in the parking lot as she attempted to leave drunk instead of on the road going a higher rate of speed to seriously injury someone. She was drunk enough she couldn’t even make it out of a parking lot safe. The second one, police following her It appears and had suspicion of drunk driving so used the ole “you have a light out” to pull her over and confirm their suspicions. Plus that she was drunk and still drinking while driving down the road. Tell me how a couple people can even justify either one of these OWI’s as being ok? Also wanting to blame a “passenger that contributed to her OWI charge”?? She alone was the only one responsible for her OWI’s by driving drunk herself. If she didn’t have a passenger she still would be the one drunk driving and charged accordingly. It amazes me the lack of understanding and taking accountability for her actions and behaviors in ANY of her charges. Lack of educated knowledge and common sense must be missing in this lady and any one defending her. The couple saying she’s nice, likeable, is pretty irrelevant when her actions display years of dangerous behaviors still to this day. Any actual good friend would explain this to her, help her understand numerous things are against the law, paying bills and fines need to be done and get her help for her drinking problems. Instead of defending her and blindly letting her think her actions are ok. Poster said someone must be jealous or holding a grudge? Their doesn’t seem to be anything to hold a grudge about unless something not so “nice” she has done and as for jealousy? There doesn’t seem anything at all to be jealous of this lady. She appears to live a life most people would avoid living and not participate in illegal behavior. Hopefully she gets some healthy support system, understanding her behavior is dangerous and gets some accountability for her actions.
