Todd Blodgett Opinion: IMPEACHMENT HANDS TRUMP RE-ELECTION

Todd Blodgett

President Trump’s impeachment likely assures Republicans of approximately 400 Electoral votes in 2020.  While this fiasco briefly assuaged their bottled-up anger, the long-term consequences for the Democrats will only compound their frustration.  Politics is like physics, in that actions cause reactions; it’s not unlike kicking a dog – especially when the angered animal chases, and bites, his attackers.  Congressional Democrats Nancy Pelosi, Adam Schiff and Jerry Nadler are like aging hippies riding a Moped – and they’re playing chicken against a trucker driving a fully loaded 18-wheeler.  Thinking that Mr. Trump will now lose is as baseless as believing that Hillary, in 2016, could win. These emboldened Republicans will double down on fundraising, micro- targeting of voters, organizational efforts, and social media attacks against ALL Democrats – which will include their 2020 nominee.  Indeed, on the very day that President Trump was impeached, his campaign committee raised nearly $6 million – most of it online. The shenanigans perpetrated by Democrats will drive votes to Trump in every swing state that matters.

The likeability factor also hurts Democrats.  How many registered Independents who will likely vote would even care to meet Liz Warren, Joe Biden, Jerry Nadler, or Adam Schiff?  The answer: not nearly enough to provide the victory margins needed by Trump’s 2020 opponent. Conversely, tens of millions of Americans would enjoy meeting Trump, including many who may find his personal style edgy.

Trump could actually lose the Popular vote by four to five million and STILL garner 400 Electoral votes.  His opponent will almost assuredly take California, Illinois, New York, Massachusetts, Connecticut, New Jersey and other states by, collectively, 8-9 million votes.  But the only southern state Trump will likely lose is Virginia. He’s basically locked up Florida, Texas, and Ohio, and is favored in Wisconsin, Michigan, and Pennsylvania – ALL states he carried.  Trump has energized previously moribund citizens like no President since Ronald Reagan; come 2020, he’ll almost certainly win more votes from blacks than any GOP presidential nominee since Richard Nixon.  Astute Democrats realize that Trump won due to working-class votes in Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Wisconsin, but these same, clueless Leftists have now alienated such voters. These activists aren’t unlike the inept helmsman who steered the Titanic into the iceberg.

However, the Titanic’s victims suffered for only a few hours; Trump’s foes will be miserable for another four, long years.  The lyrics to a 1960s country tune by the late Buck Owens offer clues to what’s coming: “I’ve got a tiger by the tail; it’s plain to see – I won’t be much when you get through with me … I’m as helpless as a leaf that’s in a gale; Looks like I’ve got a tiger by the tail.”  A YouTube video features an arrogant, mouthy, anti-Trump hooligan snatching a Trump supporter’s MAGA cap at a Pennsylvania rally. Seconds later, numerous Trump fans converged; the thief felt about as welcome as Rosie O’Donnell at an NRA Gun Show. As the crowd yelled, “USA, USA, USA!”, the chastened perp surrendered.  Absent some cops who intervened, the subversive would’ve probably left the rally on a stretcher, might have been taken to a morgue. Similarly, in Iowa City in 2017, a Trump fan confronted some Johnson county Leftists who were disrespectfully burning an American flag. He angrily confronted the fools, confiscated their flag, pushed them back, and dared the crazies to take their best shot.

As one loser tried, the gutsy driver sprayed him with a fire extinguisher.  As the Trump supporter advanced toward another flake, the comrades ALL hastily retreated.  Those Radicals, much like their cocky Congressional counterparts, overplayed their hand and paid dearly.  So, WHY aren’t more Democrats calibrating their game to match their opposition? After all, today’s Republican party is NOT the GOP of the Bush family, John McCain, Gerald Ford, or Mitt Romney.  Donald Trump’s fanatical supporters aren’t gun-shy. These fighters play for keeps, and they’re winning.

wrote this a little early, it has all changed now

One thing I’d like to know: How can unions/union members support Democrats in the 2020 elections?

Trump is trying to wrangle China’s (successful) long-standing efforts to decimate US manufacturing. Also, Democrats generally support “Medicare-for-all”, which takes away benefits that the unions have pressed for.

While worker’s rights is a main tenet of unions, I can’t see how they could support Socialism and government control of even more aspects of their lives.

If we would happen to get Universal Care for everyone, then unions wouldn’t have to bargain for insurance and could put their efforts into improving pay and working conditions.

…except that the Medicare-for-all would likely be far inferior to the employer-sponsored plans that most working Americans have now. Medicare Part B will be $145/mo in 2020, and that doesn’t include a supplement that covers the 20% that Medicare doesn’t cover.

I think people believe it’s going to be free to them. No one has yet talked about any projected costs to individuals or what will (or more importantly WON’T) be covered. Then again, I think it’s all a bit of a pipe dream anyway – just campaign promises that don-t have a chance at becoming reality. BTW, that’s one thing that the President should be applauded for: trying to keep his campaign promises.

Sheeple have been sucking down the kool-aid for so long, they don’t want to stop now.

I am a Union Member that voted for Trump and do not support the leftists that have taken over the Democratic Party. I can assure you there are many, many conservative Union members.

As a former Democrat, I was forced to become an Independent when Clinton signed NAFTA and GATT trade agreements that killed our jobs and wages.

Nothing surprises me more than Trump turning the Republican Party into a voice for working families and middle-class Americans, but I like it! I know many Democrats that will be voting for Trump in 2020.

Now we need a Politician who has a Make America Great Again agenda to take over the Democratic Party and kick the left-wing socialists out of the Democratic Party.

For now, I am sticking with President Trump!

I am a member of a union and I will NOT be voting for a democrat.

then you can kiss your union goodbye.

Bye bye than. Would rather “lose” the union for a few than lose the country to a socialist party. What’s better for the majority? Trump is defintely not the smoothest President we have had but at least he is fighting for American jobs. As a union member and an American that’s big.

Trump may not be the smoothest but you do get the point!!!

Good read!

Watching the msm and the rest of the cabal going after President Trump is like watching the drain swirl, they keep going round and round
MERRY CHRISTMAS TODD

Thanks, Kraig – and Merry Christmas, and a Happy 2020 to you and yours!

It’s always nice to hear from old friends like you; we go back, now, for what … 48, or 50 years?

Great Op-Ed Todd. It is very well written and very true. The Liberal Democrats have overplayed their hand and will pay for it by losing the next election. No amount of lying by MSM will change that.

Thanks, ‘Anonymous’ – I’m glad you like it!

Where are all the Dumb Ass Liberals that pile on whenever Todd expresses himself?

Please don’t encourage them, they’re having a hard time thinking of something negative to say that hasn’t been said before.

Yes, and Todd always nails them Dems he is good with the words. We like to read what he puts up, we always agree on things with Mr B.

Happy 2020 to you Todd.

Thank you, ‘Pee wee’!

I enjoy your comments on these threads. Happy New Year!

Todd Blodgett is a political hack who is desperate to be relevant, he is not.
Todd thrives on attempted manipulation of facts and innuendo, much like his mentor, Harvey LeRoy “Lee” Atwater.
His editorials are full of nonsense and half truths and partisan BS not backed up by facts.
Blodgett, you have no proven data to support your self-created facts.

And Trump promoted a fake Ronald Reagan quote about himself. Reagan vs Trump…..
Iran-contra taught us lessons, Reagan initiated a secret, illegal foreign policy.
Reagan administrations U.S. officials asked roughly 15 governments to help support the outlawed operation.
Reagan had broken laws with abandon, he had repeatedly violated the Arms Export Control Act and the National Security Act. Moreover, his appointees blatantly and repeatedly lied in sworn congressional testimony to conceal their actions.

Trump, a destroyer of Washington norms, you might remember that it would be hard for Trump to exceed
Reagan in contempt for the rule of law.

Without Reagan, the Republic Party might still be loyal to the nation, and Trump never would have happened.
Reagan was our Chernobyl.

Boomer 51 is nothing but a jealous liberal hack with very little brains and no balls. He attacks people but is afraid to use his real name. What a coward.

In reply to ‘Boomer’: My columns aren’t about ME – they’re about the views expressed, and THEIR relevance to the law-abiding, America-loving citizens of the USA.

If Ronald Reagan was so bad, ‘Boomer’, then why did he oust Jimmy Carter by 44 states to six, and slaughter Walter Mondale by 49 states to ONE? Are you aware of the rates of inflation, and interest, in 1980, just before RR defeated Carter?

Did you like how Carter allowed Iran to hold 50+ Americans hostage, for 444 days? Mr. Reagan also opposed Carter’s giving away the American Canal, down in Panama. Donald is much like Ronald, and they’re good for the Americans that America needs.

And, as you know, RR and Lee Atwater are dead, and unable to defend themselves and their legacies. Let’s show some respect to them, okay?

So … Merry Christmas to you, ‘Boomer’ – and may 2020 be a great year for you, as it will be for President Trump!

Merry Christmas to you too.

It was an opinion, do you know what that is.

NOUN
a view or judgment formed about something, not necessarily based on fact or knowledge.

Along the same vein and line as ” Mad” Max Weaver, Peter “The Greek” Children, and good ol’ Matty Marquardt!

Boomer 51, you talk like a man with a paper asshole!

Boomer 51
A president breaking laws,Hmmm.
Do you mean like One of your anointed ones, Obama, putting illegal guns on the streets, trading terrorists for traitors, paying terrorists for hostages, using the IRS as a weapon, rearming Iran.

There is more, but frankly, it is a waste of my time to point ant of this out. Neither you, nor your brethren will ever believe, even with proof, that your golden boy did wrong.
Democrats, in general, will tax and spend us into a depression. “We need to punish those that have initiative, They must be dependent on the state(government) from cradle to the grave.

Idiot liberls

This ass is more full of shit than a cattle shed!

Blodgett is always pro Trump just like he loves his old buddy Ronald Reagan.

I do not know why anybody with a brain even reads the stuff Mr Blodgett write, he is always so pro Trump, so pro Republitard, just makes normal people puke.

Toddy Boy is a chip off the old block, he is another Gary Blodgett who never should have got elected to represent our county. Save time, ignore Toddy Boy.

Blodgett, Jr is just a drug addicted gun nut, he shoots innocent victim’s like that college kid he falsely accused of robbing him at that bar in Clear Lake a couple years ago.

Just wondering, why isn’t there someone that’s pro demorat that can write opinions like this. You sound a little envious.

All you, Union forever, do is call names, are you incapable of forming coherent sentences?
Can you not communicate with effectively with people that may not agree with you, but will at least listen. Granted, then, we will use a Democrats worst enemy (FACTS not feelings) to prove the error in your ways.

After reading your post, I wonder how drunk you were at 1:04 a.m. Go back over it and you might see some incoherent sentences and a lot bs.

I had nothing to drink, just tired. Tired of the same BS from Democrats.
There is no BS in what I had to say, I did screw up a sentence though.

It should be: Can you not communicate effectively with people that may not agree with you, but, will at least listen. Granted, then, we will use a Democrats worst enemy (FACTS not feelings) to prove the error in your ways.

Yes, I removed that 1 word (with) and added a comma.
I guess those made it incoherent.

In reply to ‘Union forever’: What you posted simply isn’t true – I did NOT shoot the two thieves who stole my wallet, and my cash.

Nor were they college students; they worked for Evans United Shows, which sponsors the Carnival in Clear Lake. They both were arrested, and one was returned to prison, while the other was jailed, for eight months, for their crime.

It’s also false of you to claim that I use illegal drugs, now. I used to, yes – and I was addicted to cocaine, for about seven years. But I’ve been drug-free, now, since May of 2006.

Please get your claims correct before you post such nonsense. Thank you.

What union do you belong to. They should kick you out for making such false claims.

MAGA – My advisors got arrested . KAG – Keep America Groaning. YAAI

Thinking like that, your going be real pissed off come 2020. Go, TRUMP!!!

Real American’s loves our great President, greatest one ever, ever.

YAAI
