Mason City airport to get new manager

Retiring MC Airport Manager Pam Osgood

MASON CITY – The Mason City airport will be getting a new manager.

The Mason City Airport announced this week that the Airport Commission has approved the appointment of David Sims as the new Airport Manager. The current Airport Manager, Pamela Osgood, will be retiring in December, after having been employed with the Airport Commission for over 29 years and served as airport manager for the last 17 years.

David Sims, according to a social media post from the Mason City Airport, has worked in Airport Operations for the Mason City Municipal Airport for 13 years. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Aviation Management from Louisiana Tech University. David is a 12 year veteran of the Clear Lake Fire Department, and a chartering member of the Kiwanis Club of Clear Lake. David currently resides with his wife Heather in Clear Lake. He will assume the position of Airport Manager December 9, 2019.
