A resident called 911 at 10:08 p.m. to report that heard several shots and their front door had been struck by gunfire.
During the investigation officers found two bullet holes in the front door. They also learned that the shooting had occurred at least 15 minutes prior to 911 being called. There were two occupants in the home when officers arrived and no one was injured.
Anyone with information about this incident should contact the Mason City Police Department.

I think we should put some new flower pot on Main Street. They could use PD’s budget for it. The high up seem more concerned with Main Street then the public’s safety. Triple the police force and less help the PD deal with the crime. Call in when you see the dirt bags causing problems or starting to gather. Between the meth and heroin and wannabe gang crime it’s not going to get better. It would if we where allowed to have an honest dialogue about who is responsible for this type of crap and the effective ways of dealing with it. But we live in a town where two black guys can stab a man half to death at the liquor store and the charges ALL get dropped. Cooperation is corruption when it comes to the d boys wherever else black males come from to sell drugs and commit crime in north iowa.

We hear gunshots all the time in this neighborhood. It never happened until a few years ago. What changed other then people moving here from Chitcago and Deadtroit. Brought in by greedy real estate agents. Rex Hardy should be brought to justice over this crime.
