NORMAN, OK – Iowa State fell behind by 3 touchdowns on the road at powerful Oklahoma, but nearly had enough to come back as they lost by one point, 42-41.

Iowa State’s (5-4, 3-3) last-minute two-point conversion attempt failed, allowing No. 9 Oklahoma (8-1, 5-1) to escape the underdog’s upset bid and giving Iowa State yet another close loss this season. Trailing by 21 in the fourth quarter, even quarterback Brock Purdy’s stellar performance of 5 touchdowns just wasn’t enough. Purdy’s five touchdown passes tied a single-game school record (Todd Bandhauer, Steele Jantz).

Iowa State returns home to take on Texas on Saturday at 2:30 p.m. at MidAmerican Energy Field at Jack Trice Stadium. The game will be televised by FS1.

Iowa State played good enough to win. Too bad a delay of game was not called when the Oklahoma player through the ball to the sidelines right before the 2 point try. Then pass interference was not called on the 2 point attempt.

too bad they didn’t kick the PAT. Their momentum was there to score again in OT or was it?

yep it was the ref’s fault.
