DES MOINES – An Iowa man is behind bars after he allegedly inflicted multiple injuries on a baby.
On October 23, 2019, 35-year-old Richard Samuel Grylls was arrested without incident at his Oskaloosa home. Mr. Grylls was charged with one count of Assault (Class C Felony) and one count of Child Endangerment Causing Injury (Class D Felony) against a non-relative infant.
The charges against Mr. Grylls were the result of an investigation conducted by the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation’s Major Crime Unit and the Oskaloosa Police Department. The investigation started on October 16, after a 10-month old was brought to the Mahaska County Hospital with multiple injuries. The infant is expected to make a full recovery.
Grylls is currently in the Mahaska County Jail without bond.
