Fourth Mason City Man sentenced for involvement in sale of stolen guns

CEDAR RAPIDS – A Mason City man who assisted with the sale of a stolen firearm was sentenced October 4, 2019 to three years in federal prison.

Amador Ramos, age 46, from Mason City, Iowa, received the prison term after a guilty plea to one count of a two-count indictment filed on December 19, 2018. Ramos pled guilty to one count of possession of a firearm by a felon. Ramos, a convicted felon, admitted he arranged for the sale of a stolen firearm.

On May 12, 2017, a Thompson, Iowa residence was burglarized and seven firearms were stolen. Joshua Rudnicki, Kyle Krug, and Daniel Solano were involved in the theft of the firearms; Rudnicki, Krug, and Solano were all sentenced in September. Ramos admitted to assisting Krug with the sale of one of the firearms.

Ramos was sentenced in Cedar Rapids by United States District Court Judge C.J. Williams. Ramos was sentenced to 39 months’ imprisonment. Ramos must also serve a three-year term of supervised release after the prison term. There is no parole in the federal system.

Ramos is being held in the United States Marshal’s custody until he can be transported to a federal prison.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Jack Lammers and investigated by Iowa Division of Narcotics Enforcement, Mason City Police Department, and the Clear Lake Police Department.

To everyone who blames drugs for things that happen. Remember, everyone who uses drugs got started by choosing to try them. It’s not a disease, it’s not an illness. It’s a choice. They started willingly, they are where they deserve to be. A disease is not something you choose, like cancer, Parkinson’s, multiple sclerosis. Making it a disease is an easy way out, a lie to make this trash be more sympathetic to the bleeding heart losers out there.

You are so wrong. Medical professionals have long said drug addiction is a disease. Of course you don’t believe that just like you probably don’t believe scientists who say climate change is being assisted by humans. More than likely you flunked middle school science and never took another class.

Medical professional’s call drug addiction a disease so they can reap money treating it. And who are they to call it a disease? What criteria are they using and what definition for disease have they chosen? The bottom line here is that drug users chose to be where they are at. If a person shoots themselves cleaning a weapon, they deserve no pity. They knew what could happen if they didn’t check the chamber. With all of the information out, drug addicts knew the danger of trying it. Therefore they deserve no pity or special help either. It was a choice. Argue that, if you can.

thank you

How did the addiction happen? Did it suddenly occur when the weather changed? Did the brakes go bad on the car and the person became an addict? Did the person sleep on their right side as opposed to their left side on Tuesday when it fell on the 12th of the month? No matter how susceptible the person is to addiction, or how wrong the brain is wired, the cause is still the same. The person willingly tried the drug. There is no way you can call it a disease when the person themselves initiated it. Unless to excuse their behavior and make it somebody else’s fault.

I guess my last post about drugs not being a disease put a stop to your baseless allegations. Thank you.

How about being prescribed the medicine by a doctor? I am sure your degree is much more comprehensive than a doctor or scientist. What exactly was it in? Did you graduate with State Senator Mark Chelgren?

Oh yes, I am sure that every loser addict got his start on prescribed opioids. Friend, give up while you still have a chance. People know when they’re addicted to something, whether it’s caffeine, chocolate, or drugs. If you know you have a problem with something, do something about it. If you don’t want to do something about it, walk in front of a speeding semi and do the world a favor.

One more thing. You people have ridiculed my education and called me an idiot. Yet I have at no time attacked you personally. I find that interesting. Also I find interesting that you will not concede that addiction starts with the individual themselves taking that first step. If a person did not start taking the opioid, there would be no addiction. I really don’t understand how you can not see that basic correlation.

I believe the name-calling comes from your refusal to look at the facts. People who do research and study addictions are much more believable than someone who is expressing his opinion. Those people have the education and skill to make those sort statements. You seem to think you are smarter than them.

there going to kill me. i need a gun. blah blah blah. paranoid delusional and now off to the concentration camp for reeducation. The US Marshals just needs to open an office in north iowa. Selling guns. really. in rural iowa. dumb.

Lots of people sell guns in rural iowa. Guns are all over rural Iowa. It’s where people want enjoy and use guns. Your stupid statement may need some clarification if it isnt going to be concise and articulate in the first place. Now what should have happened is the homeowner should have come home while these worthless shit bags where robbing him and he shoulda out bullets in each and every meth addicted worthless loser involved. Criminals need to be shot more often around here and they need to be shot by the citizens they choose to victimize. More shot dead criminals less crime. Pretty damn simple. Stealing from people is stupid and you should lose your life for it stealing guns makes that even more true and necessary. Meth heads should all be shot.

He used to be a decent guy until drugs got to him.

Drugs have ruined a lot of decent people, that’s why I despise drug dealers do much. As the Red Queen said, “off with their heads”.

How do you feel about Purdue Pharmaceuticals Allen?

I don’t know anything about them.

But, you’re THE know-it-all!

“But, you’re THE know-it-all!”

Besides, (your say) Prove your statement.

Allen, Purdue Pharma is the largest legal drug cartel in America. They are the main reason we have an opioid crisis in the US. https://www.npr.org/2019/09/19/762455218/as-drugmakers-face-opioid-lawsuits-some-ask-why-not-criminal-charges-too

I despise do much too.

Say what?

He’s trying to be funnier then he usually is, by making a big deal out of a misspelled word. He must be NITS official spelling Nazi!

HA HA HA

BULLSHIT.

No one gets addicted to drugs if they don’t try them. Simple. In this day and age, we all know that experimenting with drugs, gets you hooked. Just say NO!!!

Ever had major surgery? Just say no then.
