MASON CITY – A Mason City man is under investigation after yet another incident in which a driver crashed his truck into a rail road intersection where no one should have been driving.
On September 15, 2019 at about 4 am officers were sent to check on a truck that was reportedly stuck on the Union Pacific railroad tracks near 9th St. N.W. between N. Monroe and N. Jackson. Officers arived and located the truck which was unoccupied. During the investigation, officers found the truck had originally been eastbound on 9th St. N.W. and crashed through signage that had been in place since the railroad crossing was removed as a result of the Quiet Zone Project in the spring of 2018.
Police say the person responsible for driving the truck at the time of the incident was 43-year-old Aaron Madsen of Mason City. Madsen was cited for not having a driver’s license and failing to maintain control.
The department is continuing to investigate the incident and more charges may be likely.
what is there to investigate? he was drunk or on meth and drunk. shocker. hes the first guy to get on those tracks in a while without catching a bullet to the spine. he sorta won, coulda been a parapalygarino.
Dumb Ass!
Since that was no longer a place where the public had easemen, and it was very well posted, the person should be charged with Felony trespass.
He’s being railroaded. Haha
