Mason City man accused of enticing a child

IOWA FALLS – A Mason City man has been jailed in a nearby county on several felony charges in connection with attempting to solicit a child.

The Hardin county jail listed three felony charges against 26-year-old Samuel Audiel Leider of Mason City. NIT readers may remember Mr. Leider, as he has been arrested on drunk driving charges on more than one occasion. Leider is facing three felony charges in Hardin county:

– LASCIVIOUS ACTS W/CHILD – SOLICITATION (FELD)
– ENTICING AWAY A MINOR (FELD)
– SEXUAL EXPLOIT. OF CHILDREN – 1983 (FELC) 709.8(3)~710.10(2)~728.12(1)

An incident allegedly took place on September 6 at a park in Iowa Falls involving Leider. NIT is told he traveled there to meet a 14-year-old female that he added to a social media chat program. According to a social media post, a man intervened and confronted Leider at the park and took him to the police station, where he was then arrested.

Leider was jailed and released on September 8 after using Lederman Bonding to post a $20,000.00 cash or surety bond. He is due back in Hardin county court on September 19.
