One dead, one hurt in motorcycle crash in West Des Moines

WEST DES MOINES – A man was killed, and his female passenger hurt in a crash Monday in West Des Moines as police say speed was a factor.

West Des Moines police are investigating a fatal crash on Labor Day. The crash happened around 1:00 PM Monday in the 4000 block of University Avenue. Two motorcycles and an SUV were involved. One motorcyclist, Mark Eppert 39 years old from Perry, was transported to a hospital where he died. His passenger, 42 year old Heidi Godwin, was injured in the crash. She was taken to a hospital with serious injuries. No other injuries were reported.

While the investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing, police say speed was likely a contributing factor.

Bikers need to obey the rules. They all think they are hells angles when they get on their bikes.

Motorcycles are inherently dangerous. They knew the risk, they paid the price. You can’t fix stupidity.

A motorcyclist gets killed, without knowing the full facts, you automatically blame the motorcycle operator.

You are an ASS HOLE……and stupid

*and unfortunately its still alive, and you can’t fix stupid!

Poor souls. Motorcycles are dangerous. Especially in big cities with heavy traffic. If your not riding in a group people tend not to notice you. And it’s not going to change. One mishap and tragedy follows. Be safe.
