Iowa DOT looking at possible changes to South Federal Avenue in Mason City

South Federal Avenue, southbound, in Mason City. Not exactly packed with cars much of the time.

MASON CITY – The Iowa DOT is looking at possible changes to South Federal Avenue in Mason City, just after North Federal was changed to a 3-lane road.

Will the state try to make South Federal a 3-lane road like they did on from North Federal?  That is the question some in town are wondering after the Iowa Department of Transportation announced a public meeting for a study on the matter.

The public is invited to attend a Public Information Meeting on September 12, 2019, between 5:00 and 6:30 p.m. at the Mason City Library, 225 2nd St. SE., in Mason City. The proposed feasibility study on U.S. 65 from 0.1 mile South of 27th St. SW to 6th St. S in Mason City in Cerro Gordo County will be displayed and discussed.

Details of the proposed study will be discussed at the meeting. Iowa DOT staff will be present to discuss the study informally. Interested individuals are encouraged to attend to express their views and ask questions about the proposed study.

The meeting room is accessible for persons with disabilities.
