FORT DODGE – A Fort Dodge man was arrested after shooting another man Sunday morning.
On Sunday, August 11th at approximately 12:30 AM, officers with the Fort Dodge Police Department were dispatched to the emergency room of Unity Point — Trinity Regional Medical Center for a 52-year-old male with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to his left forearm. Officers spoke with the victim and gained information that he had been in an argument at 816 South 16th Street in Fort Dodge and was shot by another male. The suspect then fled the scene and the victim was transported to the emergency room by personal vehicle for treatment of his injuries.
Investigators and patrol officers returned to the scene and spoke with witnesses who were present at the time the shooting occurred. Information obtained indicated that 50-year-old Eddie E. Lambert of Fort Dodge, was responsible for the shooting. Officers contacted Lambert at his residence and took him into custody without incident at approximately 3:40 AM Sunday morning. Lambert was booked into the Webster County Jail on the following charges:
• Willful Injury Causing Bodily Injury— D Felony
• Possession of a Firearm as a Felon — D Felony
A subsequent search warrant at Lambert’s residence resulted in the recovery of the firearm believed used in this incident. Lambert made his initial appearance in Webster County Magistrate Court on Monday, August 12th where he was ordered held on a $10,000 cash only bond.
