MASON CITY – A Mason City woman will stand trial in August after an alleged violent incident at Mercy Hospital.
Shannon Grouette, age 42, is accused of assaulting a doctor at Mercy Hospital in Mason City on May 29, 2019. She was arrested by Mason City police after the incident and charged with assault on persons in certain occupations causing bodily injury.
Grouette has entered a not-guilty plea and will face a jury trial on August 29.
I’m also had a horrible experience with them on December 13,2019 I would take a dead dog here sexually assaulted and my right under ADA very very violated and I hope people start reporting this place and I had no idea at the time that the same doctor almost killed my daughter and grandson just 8 years before or I would of been the one in a court room for kicking his ass hate hate hate these so called idiots

Shady hospital at best. Non profit by and large it is not. General Hospital soap opera atmosphere is alive and well. But…they do save lives.

There is way much worse going on in that hospital. Just remember the Dr that sexually abused patients and employees that mercy seemed to protect, only got a slap on the hand by the court and was still allowed on mercy property and to profit. I’m sure you can imagine the inappropriate things that go on that are not reported, not exposed or not come to light.
imagine that someone got fed up with 20+ years of subpar treatment by “medical professionals” and finally stood up and did what the majority of people wish they could do to the worthless pill pushers in this town? love people defending the glorified nurse when you know the last time you talked about mercy it was to complain with other people who also dislike that hack hospital. most people serious about their healthcare go to mayo or iowa city. mercy has always been a joke.

Iowa City and Mayo are excellent. MercyOne North Iowa is also full of excellent medical professionals . Go get treatment wherever you choose. One bit of advice…don’t hit anybody. Gotta agree with most of this. Never had a bad nurse at Mercy. All were great. Most doctors are good but there are a few who are not. I go to different hospitals instead of the few.

Lol Mercy. A lot of employees talk down and bad of patients, even the Drs. Some do it to pt faces and some do it behind their backs. You hear it in the hallways and nurses/Drs stations all the time. People are not fools, deaf, and many read these great peoples social media.

once in a while these pure and infallable medical professionals tend to forget they are speaking to patients scared or dying people and they say some fantastically rude inconsiderate horrible shit to peole they are supposed to be caring for, guess what? part of caring is being polite considerate and respectful. maybe this one said something rude as hell like ive heard them say before to scared dying people and instead of being able to push the beast down and burn through the bitch with a hateful stare this person got fed up and cracked the cun*? on more than one occasion ive heard people tell stories about the disrespectful manner in which the dr’s or nurses speak to or about patients. personally ive heard them laughing and joking about a patient while standing outside my room. do you think i just let it go? i asked them in a polite way, why do you practice medicine if you have the capacity and the pettiness that can allow you to ridicule sick people. what i wanted to say was make another funny joke, i like to laugh before i knock an over paid jackass out and spit in his eye. they are pricks up there. better facilities abound all over the state.
Absolutely there people all over that behave badly. Emotions are often running high in any medical setting. You could say those same things about countless different scenarios. All kinds of people and places and circumstances could make anyone feel like no one should ever have to. There are many many people you could say, “that person should be smacked” about and it could be true. Maybe everybody gets crazy over something at some point in life. Assault is against the law. You don’t get excused for behaving like an animal. At 42 years old a person would know that by now.
