GREENE, IOWA – A lumber yard burned down in Greene on Monday.

The Greene Lumber Company at 208 East Traer Street suffered a catastrophic fire Monday morning, July 8. Local fire departments from Marble Rock and elsewhere responded to the scene in the early morning hours to battle a large blaze that had engulfed the business.

The City of Greene reported via Twitter, “This is some sad news for Greene, the Greene Lumber Company building has burned down overnight.”

“We are devastated!” the lumber yard reported via social media. “Thank you to everyone for all of your hard work and support this morning,” as the fire was finally put out.

Back on July 1, an electrical fire damaged the office at the business.

“A huge thank you to the Greene and Marble Rock Fire Department for their quick responses this morning,” the lumber yard report via social media that morning. “The office is in rough shape and we are without power, but we are here!”

Now that a second fire has totally destroyed the business, Greene Lumber is directing customers to Clarksville.

“If you need any supplies, please contact Clarksville Lumber. They will be helping us out.”

I live for Butterflies!!!

GREAT!

i think you are all assholes. this story is about a lumber yard probably fifty miles from mason city, how did we get on mason city? is it that fun trolling that you just do whatever you want or can to create tension? wtf is entertaining about that? i get that it is essentially harmless and usually thats enough for me not to even care but…… whats the POINT!

why is it that when the police dept does something you don’t like, like give u a ticket(I remember one officer being asked by a stopped driver “your not going to give me a ticket” and officer replied “no we don’t give them away, you got to earn them”) and its the same way with the fire department. condemn them if things didn’t go your way. next time your house is on fire, call the girl scouts, asshole

ok douche. you need to get your tape measure out and go do some quick measurments from the grass across the street to the fire dept. thats a lot Fuc**n closer to the fire dept than my home is. they couldnt even make it to that point in time to save some little kids and a cpl nigs! before you call me an asshole why dont you go ahead and direct your shit attitude to the fire dept that let kids burn to death staring at the fire dept! i bet you have some grand excuse for why they couldnt have done anything? like cars just instantly explode as if reality is a bad movie? i rent so ill be fine grabbing my things and letting the place burn, you fcan keep you negligent homicide committing mason city fire dept. i didnt say anything about fire fighters at large other than they deserve a pat on the back. you can eat a bag of dicks you whiny angry little man. Fuc**ng loser.

” like cars just instantly explode as if reality is a bad movie?” It is my understanding that Jeep installed plastic gas tanks on some vehicles. And that the gas tank on the jeep in question was plastic, and ruptured on impact. Do you know what happens to gasoline when it comes in contact with sparks/hot metal? Needless to say. it was a sad situation, and you are not helping it any by putting blame on the fire department.

https://www.cbsnews.com/news/chrysler-jeep-recall-gas-tank-explosions-still-raising-safety-concerns/

open flame’s ignite gasoline, not sparks or hot metal. nor cigarettes or lightening. possibly dragons fire or fireballs from a wizard. a bic lighter or a torch. but not a spark or hot metal.

Keep telling yourself that!

So then, how did the fire start?

Your not going to answer the question, are you?

You just can’t fix stupid.

have you ever actually tried it..

A 7.62×63 will do a good job.

Mason City is so lucky to have the fire dept it has. The whole group is a class act and very professional. I know first hand and have had the opportunity to work with them for years.

uh huh. well. they are negligently homicidal and they usually can be found lounging around doing jack shit. maybe driving the firetruck around town about 4-430 ensuring they can fu** up traffic and make people with real jobs late for work while they joy ride not on the way to or fr4om an emergency, just wasting tax payer gas.

bet that was a hot fire and hard to fight. fire crews deserve more praise and recognition, exceot for mason city. where they will let you burn to death 47 feet from the the fire dept’s large see through glass garage doors on the firehouse facing your accident. do not in any way expect any help from the mcfd in any situation happening literally a stones throw away….. other than that theyd be glad to tell you to put out you bon fire.

Do you suppose that the firemen were standing in the garage looking out the windows watching for a speeding car packed full of kids at 2 in the morning?

i do think they are an emergency response team so i very much damn well expect at least a couple people to be conciuos every minute of the day and night. do you suppose its acceptable for the police and emts to take naps because it just happens to be very late or very early and crime or injury just dont seem that likely that particular moment? unnacceptable. i think they stood there and watched the car burn, white people are worthless.

” white people are worthless.” and your at the top of the list!

how? my dna is a mixture of beautiful races. hard to be white when youre latino, asian and indian… dont you think, DICK!

Everybody knows that you are aksai black pied, from the Sus tribe.

So these kids rob WalMart of liquor, drive across town at over 100 MPH with no regard to the public’s safety or themselves at 3 in the morning and you blame the fire department??
Are you for real??

so. emergency responders get to decide who they do and do not save? and things like petty theft and speeding on empty roads are disqualifiers and exemot people from the right to ems? youre a fuc*in tool.

You are the tool
This was a preventable accident caused solely by the driver of the vehicle! Emergency responders did the best they could to save them and yet you want to give no fault to the driver and only blame the fire department…you are not very smart are you
