RURAL WORTH COUNTY – A flower delivery man from Arkansas was stopped in With county, and the lawman discovered a jar full of weed and a loaded handgun.
On May 28, 2019 at approximately 1943 hours a Deputy with the Worth County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop on a Bonnie’s Plants delivery truck at the intersection of Highway 65 and 440th for no rear registration plate and a tip that an occupant of the vehicle had a strong odor of marijuana coming from or about their person.
Upon approaching the vehicle, the deputy observed a strong odor of marijuana coming from within the vehicle. A subsequent search yielded a mason jar full of a green leafy substance consistent with marijuana with an odor of marijuana, a one-hitter commonly used for smoking marijuana with an odor of burnt marijuana, and a .380 handgun with a fully loaded clip.
As a result of the stop, 27 year old Codie St John of Arkansas was taken into custody for Possession of a Controlled Substance and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. 33 year old Rutherford Wilson, also of Arkansas, was taken into custody for Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Carrying Weapons.
St John has since bonded out of jail and awaits a court appearance.
