Mason City house shot up, person hurt; cops seek clues

MASON CITY – A Mason City house was shot up Tuesday night and a person was hurt, leading police to seek clues.

The Mason City Police Department was notified about the sounds of gunshots in the area of the 200 block of 5th St. N.E. on April 30, 2019 at about 11:00 PM. Officers searched the area and spoke with residents to try and determine the validity of the report. It was determined the gunshots actually occurred in the 400 block of North Pennsylvania instead. There, officers found one residence that had several bullet holes in the front of it. Officers continued their investigation and eventually located an injured subject inside. The subject was taken to MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center, received treatment for the injury and was released. T

he police department is continuing the investigation into this incident which is believed to be isolated to the subjects and residence involved. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact Investigator Jason Hugi of the Mason City Police Department at 641-421-3636.
