Kim Reynolds

DES MOINES – Today, Gov. Kim Reynolds signed HF 650 into law, which protects job creators that hire individuals with past criminal offenses.

“This bill opens doors for Iowans who deserve a second chance by protecting the job creators extending a helping hand,” said Gov. Reynolds. “I am proud that this legislation received the unanimous support of legislators. It also helps our state build a stronger workforce for the more than 35,000 open jobs across Iowa.”

HF 650 is an act relating to the liability of private employers, general contractors, and premise owners for negligently hiring employees, agents or independent contractors convicted of a public offense.
