Richard Leet drawing workshop set for June 1 at MacNider museum

MASON CITY – Richard Leet will teach a day-long workshop at the MacNider Art Museum on Saturday, June 1. This fast-paced, in-depth workshop, based on the teachings of Kimon Nicolaides’ in his book, “The Natural Way to Draw,” will be taught by Mason City artist, Richard Leet. Dick will lead participants in trying their hands on dozens of basic drawing exercises that can be key to further success and growth in all visual art mediums.

Drawing paper is provided as will be a variety of drawing mediums. Students may want to bring along any drawing mediums of their own liking e.g. crayons, colored chalk, etc.

The workshop is from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. with a 1-hour break for lunch. Cost of the workshop is $45 and $40 for Museum members. Please register early by calling 641-421-3666.

Admission to the Museum is free and open to the public Tuesday and Thursday 9 a.m. – 8 p.m., Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.  It is located at 303 2nd Street SE, Mason City, Iowa.  More information about exhibits, programs, and events can be found at the Museum’s website at www.macniderart.org, on its Facebook page, or by calling 641-421-3666.
