MASON CITY – A person claimed to be armed with a gun and made threats, leading police to issue a code red warning in a Mason City neighborhood Friday evening.
On April 12, 2019 at 7:35 PM, Mason City Police were dispatched to the 800 block of 6th Street Southeast on a report of a disturbance. It was reported that a subject inside of a residence was making threats and thought to be armed with a gun. Officers stood by the residence and attempted to make contact with the subject for a little less than an hour.
A code red was sent to the surrounding neighbors to alert them of the situation.
The subject did come out of the residence without incident at 8:27 PM.
The incident remains under investigation and no charges have been filed at this time.
Damn Southend. We should bulldoze it down.

yeah its just something skids from the north side say. they think its clever because they assume we unfairly characterize the north end. so any time one isolated thing happens on the south side of town they jump on it with this same old line theyve been using for ten years. they dont get that the north end is worse has more crime and more low class people. anytime you drive federal out to the aedge of town yoju always see gross skeletal people with bad skin and obvious drug problems ambling down the sidewalks. north enders suffer diminished capacity and delusions. they think everyone lives like they do. its actually kind of shitty because good people do live up there, they just have to deal with the outrageous amount of gross skids and skanks and section 8’ers that ruin the area. too bad with the baseball diamonds and north western steakhouse as well as blue heron and little chicago. nice places to eat but the area and the people that frequent it are just ugly and depressing. northside liqour brings in a large amount of problem people and is the site of criminal activity in and of itself, remember spice or k2 and how they sold it long after it was illegal or how people stab each other at that store…. the whole area needs cleaning up but then to the south you have monroe and all the freaks and junkies and creeps that frequent that area and live in the neighborhoods to the east of that street.the thing about all this building outward is the city is dying in the middle and becoming low rent housing and that brings obvious trouble. eventually the new event center will be right on the edge of a violent ghetto.
