KENSETT – Iowa citizens of Worth County are hosting in informational meeting hoping to provide answers to some of the questions and controversies surrounding wind energy and especially the controversy about large wind turbines.
The main speaker is Julie Kuntz of Concerned Residents of Worth County. She is a resident of Grafton, Iowa, and has educated herself about wind energy, wind turbines, and the wind energy industry. Kuntz is a fifth generation farmer and a pharmacist.
A similar presentation was offered in Grafton, Iowa, in the fall of 2018 and drew well over 100 people, according to a statement received by NIT. Numerous people who missed that meeting have asked for a repeat of the information. Wind energy has become a controversial subject at the same time that wind energy is aggressively working to establish contracts in Iowa. This meeting hopes to inform people with a non-wind industry view of the wind turbines and how they impact local communities and local residents.
The meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, April 16th at 6:30 at the Kensett Town in Kensett, Iowa.
