BREMER COUNTY – A Northern Iowa dad is behind bars, accused of using a gun to murder his son this weekend.
On Friday, March 22, 2019 at approximately 5:26 P.M., the Bremer County Sheriff’s Office received a call from Buchanan County dispatch requesting deputies to respond to 2682 Vine Ave, Fairbank, Iowa reporting that someone might have been stabbed and was deceased.
Bremer County Deputies arrived a short time later and found a deceased male. The deceased subject was identified as Brock Niebuhr, 36, of Dike Iowa.
Niebuhr was found to be suffering from a gunshot wound. Daniel G. Niebuhr, 59, of Fairbank Iowa, father of Brock Niebuhr, was later arrested and charged with Murder in the First Degree, Class A Felony. Brock Niebuhr’s body was transported to the Iowa Office of the State Medical Examiner for autopsy. The Bremer County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Fairbank Ambulance Service, the Iowa State Patrol and the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation (DCI). The investigation is ongoing.
