MASON CITY – An SUV slammed through the front of the Kwik Coin Laundry in Mason City Wednesday morning, and the driver was cited.

Today, at 10:02 am, a collision was reported at the Kwik Coin Laundry located at 18 N Monroe Ave, Mason City, IA. A 2004 Cadillac Escalade was apparently driven backwards (in reverse) through the front door(s) of the business. The Cadillac driver and owner, James Arthur Lee, 58, of Mason City, was not injured, nor was anyone inside the business.

Lee was backing his SUV up to the main doors. The vehicle continued over the large concrete pad (barrier) and into the business. Improper backing, speed, and possibly worn brakes may have been contributing factors to the crash. Lee’s vehicle was towed from the scene. Lee was cited for Failure to Prove Insurance.

Damage to the building was extensive. Due to possible structural safety and food safety concerns, city and county building and health code inspectors have temporarily closed the Gyro Hut and Kwik Coin Laundry. Once repairs have been made and the 2 locations pass inspection, they may be permitted to reopen for business.

He was their washing muellers DIRTY LAUNDRY !

Its just part of the new socialist GREEN WIENER deal – socialistlaundry and the government pays for it – FREE FREE FREE !

No Insurance, and not a pot to …. .. and those who have insurance are paying for it. Laws Should be no Licence Plates issued unless proof of Insurance and if canceled, the plates are pulled!

They will just drive without them. If you don’t believe that just look out the window. They don’t care if they have a license or not either as they have no intention of paying their fines.

I don’t understand how things like this happen. Instead of hitting the brake, you hit the foot feed and harder to boot. I guess when you get old that happens but in his 50’s isn’t old. No insurance on top of it.

I would of drove thru the gyro door so I could at least grab a snack, all your getting at the laundromat is dirty undies.

How fast was he going to jump aver an eight inch curb, and backwards to boot.

What a tragedy for all those cockroaches now being homeless.

Now they have a drive thru.. What’s the issue?

More like a drive in !!

Better get those 50 year olds off the streets.

That where Sid’s used to be?

Yes

Drives a Cadillac and no insurance, imagine that.

I have some rental properties. People show up driving an Escalade, ask if they can smoke outside, have a smartphone, 2 dogs (even though the ad says no pets), then inquire if we accept section 8 ????

Can’t offer proof of employment when you’re a drug dealer.
