BRITT – A West Hancock educator was arrested for a third drunk driving offense recently.
Raylea Hepker, age 27, allegedly committed her latest drunk driving offense on January 28. She was arrested by Britt police after, reportedly, the license plate
on her vehicle was covered as she drove on the wrong side of the road. She was charged with felony third-offense operating while intoxicated.
Hepker is employed by the West Hancock Community School District where she teaches English, the school’s website shows. Records show Hepker was guilty of second-offense operating while intoxicated back in 2010 in Linn county. She served 7 days in jail and paid over $3,000 in fines and court costs. In 2016, she petitioned the court to have the drunk driving charge expunged from her record. A judge denied her request.
