Two men caught after high-speed chase through Clear Lake

CLEAR LAKE – Two men were caught after a high-speed chase through Clear Lake late Thursday evening.

On February 7, 2019, at about 10:15 PM, a Cerro Gordo county sheriff’s deputy located a 2013 Chevrolet Camaro near the Interstate 35 and Highway 18 intersection. The Camaro was a reported stolen vehicle, taken from rural Clear Lake. The deputy attempted to make a traffic stop of the Camaro and the driver fled in the car through Clear Lake, reaching speeds of over 100 miles per hour. Due to the poor road conditions, the driver lost control of the car West of Clear Lake, near McIntosh Road, entering the South ditch. The two occupants of the car then fled on foot through a field. The passenger, Dylan Patrick Dimig, 26, of Schleswig, Iowa was caught after a short foot pursuit. Dimig was taken to the Cerro Gordo County Jail and charged with interference with official acts, a simple misdemeanor.

The driver of the Camaro also fled on foot. Deputies were able to locate and arrest Jared Scott Schneckloth, 31, of Manilla, Iowa and Clear Lake, Iowa after locating him hiding inside of a garage. Schneckloth was transported to the Cerro Gordo County Jail and charged with the following: theft of a motor vehicle, a Class C Felony; driving while barred, an aggravated misdemeanor; trespass, a simple misdemeanor; speeding 100mph in a 45mph zone, a simple misdemeanor; driving under suspension, a simple misdemeanor; no SR22 insurance on file, a simple misdemeanor; careless driving, a simple misdemeanor; fail to yield to an emergency vehicle, a simple misdemeanor; interference with official acts, a simple misdemeanor.

The Camaro suffered damage as a result of the accident. Both Schneckloth and Dimig are being held in the Cerro Gordo County Jail on bond. No persons were injured during the pursuit and no patrol vehicles sustained damage.

These guys aren’t meth heads. Just ask them. Then watch them explode. Hasn’t anyone else in mason city tried this? You accuse a clearly tweaked out person of being on meth, they then get loud as hell try to act like they are gonna fight you and scream about how you’re the one on meth. NeVer fails and always makes you and your friends laugh and laugh. Its really easy to do just go outside. Or to wal mart. Or anywhere in this horrible disgusting boring dying little town.

I kick myself daily for never having tried meth. It’s an action-packed video game inside your head.

hope they post bond and get out in time to go to work at their job, had to see them loose a job, hehe

They might not be on meth but I will bet their brain is frozen like a piece of dog shit in the frozen Siberian tundra! Now thats funny..

They had to be high, to run across an open field in that weather, dumb asses. Good work to the sheriff’s deputy.

Well. At least they aren’t meth addicts or anything. I mean they have tweaker skin, tweaker eyes, tweaker hair and look as if they smell like shit. . . maybe they are tweakers.

What a couple of Dumb Asses! Trying to run away in a blizzard where they can be tracked.
