MASON CITY – Three Mason City residents were arrested after a raid on a house by law enforcement.
On February 3, 2019 Michael Dennis Payton Jr., age 21 of Mason City, was arrested for three counts of Possession with Intent to Deliver Schedule I Controlled Substance, and two counts Fail to Affix a Drug Tax Stamp.
Shavaughnta Marlyn Carter, age 22 of Mason City, was arrested for two counts of Possession with Intent to Deliver Schedule I Controlled Substance, and two counts Fail to Affix a Drug Tax Stamp.
Maranda Baseman, age 22 of Mason City, was arrested for two counts of Possession with Intent to Deliver Schedule I Controlled Substance, and two counts Fail to Affix a Drug Tax Stamp.
These arrests stem from a narcotics investigation which concluded in January, 2019. This investigation was conducted by the Clear Lake Police Department with the assistance from the North Iowa Drug Task Force. The investigation lead to a drug search warrant in the 1000 block of 12th Street NW in Mason City where officers located several items consistent with the sale and use of narcotics.
Items located by officer include over 2.5 pounds of marijuana, over 90 THC infused edibles, multiple items of THC vaping oil, and drug paraphernalia used to distribute narcotics. The total estimated street value of the items seized is estimated to more than $10,000.
