Senator Ragan says she “will work to move Iowa forward while opposing legislation that would hold Iowa back”

DES MOINES – Amanda Ragan, representing Mason City along with parts of Butler, Cerro Gordo, and Franklin counties in the Iowa Senate, says she will fight bad legislation while moving Iowa forward.

On Monday, January 14, State Senator Amanda Ragan of Mason City joined other members of the Iowa Legislature for the first day of the 2019 Session. She is the Democratic Whip and will serve as the ranking member of the Health and Human Services Budget Subcommittee. She will also be a member of the Agriculture, Appropriations, Human Resources, Rules and Administration, and Veterans Committees.

“My focus is on moving Iowa forward by fully supporting legislation that will improve Iowa’s healthcare system, including mental healthcare, and expand educational and job training opportunities,” said Ragan. “In the next two years at the Capitol, I will continue to make everyday Iowans – including seniors, students, workers and women – my priority. As I always have, I will work across the aisle on legislation that helps all Iowans while opposing legislation that only benefits special interest groups.”

Constituents with concerns and ideas can reach Senator Ragan at the Capitol at (515) 281-3371, at home at (641) 424-0874, or at her email address: Amanda.Ragan@legis.iowa.gov.

Ragan said people can also keep up with her work through her Facebook account, her weekly email newsletter, and the in-district forums she holds throughout the session. Links to her various social media accounts can be found at her state web site, www.senate.iowa.gov/senator/Ragan/.
