Iowans to tell Governor, Legislature – ‘Keep your promise, respect our retirement’

Iowa capitol
DES MOINES – Iowans will speak out at the capitol on the first day of the legislative session to call on Governor Reynolds and the legislature to keep promises made on the campaign trail and respect their retirement. Vital retirement programs have been under serious threat recently, such as the Iowa Public Employees’ Retirement System, better known as IPERS. More than 350,000 Iowans would have their economic security threatened if IPERS is changed, and on Monday Iowans will stand up against potential threats to their retirement.

Monday’s press conference will be hosted by the Iowa Coalition for Retirement Security, in partnership with AFSCME Council 61, the Iowa State Education Association, and the Iowa Federation of Labor AFL-CIO. Speakers will encourage Iowans to participate in a day of action on January 23rd, which will include contacting elected officials and sharing facts about retirement security online.

Why do you think 97.5 % of them vote demorat – Welfare and freebies that the private citizen has to cough up . Socialism !

BS ! Taxpayers contribute to IPERS – that is why Iowa IOWA is 5 BILLION dollars in debt – taxpayers contribute while the lacky is working and draw 80% of their last working check when they retire we are paying DEARLY for their public retirement lifestyle – Don’t give us that Obama BS that your self supporting.

Here we go again. yur not paying their retirement ,they do. If you would have been a little smarter you too could have had a “government” job, sorry you didn’t make the cut.

That’s a big BULLS–T that they’re paying for their own retirement. Remember when you-know-who tried to blow that by the readers. This post has the air of superiority prevalent in most LIB posts. In reality the only air they have is the hot air they blow.

Public employees at the trough and still looking for more. I sure wish I would have found a public employee job. Great pay, can’t get fired, and better retirement than the people that pay their wages and retirement.

To top it off you could be horrible at your job, and still be paid. How much do they actually work?

Most government employees are a joke for what they get paid. It takes 10 of them to do the job that two private employees would do.

That means 25 of people like you could do their job if you had someone looking over your shoulder. Flipping fries isn’t that hard, is it?
