MASON CITY – A woman with two kids in her car smashed into another vehicle, leading to her arrest for drunk driving and child endangerment.
Mason City police tell NIT that an accident occurring on the night of December 31, 2018. At about 10:10 PM that night, 30-year-old Brooke Ann Freitag was driving a vehicle in Mason City when she hit another vehicle in traffic near 12th Street and North Federal Avenue, rear-ending it. There were no injuries, but there were two children in her car. Damage was estimated at $2,500 to each vehicle involved, Chief Jeff Brinkley says.
Freitag was charged with failure to stop in an assured, clear distance and OWI 1stOffense. Freitag had two children with her in her vehicle at the time of the crash, and she was charged with two counts of child endangerment.
Freitag was jailed and later released, pending a court appearance later this month.
