Mason City woman hurt in vehicle rollover accident Tuesday morning

RURAL MASON CITY – A Mason City woman was hurt when her vehicle left a rural roadway and it rolled several times.

According to the Cerro Gordo county sheriff’s office, the accident took place at the 19000 block of Mallard Avenue January 1, 2019. At 4:18 AM, deputies from the Cerro Gordo county sheriff’s office responded to a single vehicle rollover collision on Mallard Avenue. Upon arrival, deputies found a 2004 Lincoln Navigator in the ditch on it’s top. Jessica Paulsen, age 32 of Mason City, was the driver of the vehicle. Paulsen was traveling southbound on Mallard Avenue when she lost control and entered the ditch, rolling the vehicle multiple times.

Paulsen sustained non-life threatening injuries and was transported to Mercy Medical Center North Iowa for evaluation.

The collision remains under investigation as alcohol is a possible factor.

The Cerro Gordo County sheriff’s office was assisted by the Mason City Fire Department.
