MASON CITY – A North Iowa man with a lengthy criminal history who was stopped by Mason City police and caught with meth now awaits trial.
Mason City police encountered 28-year-old Harold Victory Stinnett, Jr., last known address of Clear Lake, early in November as he operated a vehicle in town. Stinnett was driving with a suspended license, police soon discovered, and not wearing a seatbelt. Upon further investigation, the illegal drug methamphetamine was found. Stinnett was arrested and charged with conspiring to deliver meth, possession of a controlled substance, driving with a suspended license, and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was jailed after midnight on November 2. He remains held in the county jail as a January 29, 2019 jury trial date approaches.
Stinnett had been free on bond since July 5, when he was released from jail after posting cash bond in connection to a felony first-degree theft charge brought by Mason City police. That charge has now been reduced to just fifth-degree theft.
Stinnett was convicted (pled guilty) to a felony burglary charge back in 2012 after Mason City police took him in. He was sent to prison that year.
