WASHINGTON, D.C. – A Democratic legislator from Texas has introduced a bill prohibiting taxpayer funds from being used to build a wall between Mexico and the United States.
Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee (D) of Texas introduced the “Protect American Taxpayers and Secure Border Act” days ago that would require the “Government of Mexico” to pay for “any wall or barrier” built between Mexico and the United States.
Additionally, the bill calls for the Secretary of Homeland Security shall take such actions as may be necessary to secure the southern border by making maximum effective utilization of technology and improved training of U.S. Custom and Border Protection agents and officers. Jackson’s bill call for an increase In Immigration Judges, too. The Attorney General may appoint 100 additional immigration judges in addition to immigration judges currently serving as of the date of the enactment of this Act. Lastly, the bill calls for humanitarian assistance. The Secretary of Homeland Security shall take such actions as may be necessary to ensure that humanitarian assistance is provided to immigrants, refugees, and other displaced persons who are in need of medical assistance and aid to sustain health and life, the bill says.
The bill is now in committee and would face hearings.
President Donald Trump and Congress are involved in a federal government shut down currently, with each side blaming the other politically over wall funding, for the shut down.
For those that naively ask why didn’t the Republicans get approval to build the Wall over the last year, it is because IN THE SENATE WE NEED 10 DEMOCRAT VOTES, and they will gives us “NONE” for Border Security! Now we have to do it the hard way, with a Shutdown. Too bad! @FoxNews

The President wanted the shutdown, but he seems not to know how to get himself out of it. As long as the President is guided by the House Freedom Caucus, it’s hard to see how he can come up with a solution that can pass both the House and Senate and end his #TrumpShutdown.
