CHARLES CITY – Police in Charles City were called to investigate a loud noise and found a wanted man along the way.
At 2:17 AM on Christmas day, officers with the Charles City police department responded to the 200 block of 5th Avenue on a report of a loud noise, which was later determined to be fireworks. As officers were en route the area, they noticed two people standing near dumpsters in the 900 block of Blunt Parkway. Police stopped for a chat and discovered the identity of one of the individuals to be 39-year-old Travis Eggers of Charles City, who has a lengthy criminal record and has served prison time. Eggers was wanted on a warrant connected to a charge of possession of a controlled substance and taken to jail. He has since been released s he awaits a hearing on January 10, 2019.
