DES MOINES – An international delegation from Kosovo recently visited the Iowa Capitol in Des Moines.
Iowa’s Speaker of the House, Republican Linda Upmeyer, was there to greet the Europeans.
“It was great to recently welcome an international delegation from Kosovo, led by Kadri Veseli, Chairman of the Kosovo Assembly,” Speaker Upmeyer said in a statement. “Iowa and Kosovo share a great relationship with each other and mutually benefit one another!”
Veseli is Speaker of Parliament for the Republic of Kosovo and President of the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK).
Iowa and Kosovo formed a “sister state” partnership back in 2013 after the Iowa National Guard formed a partnership there.
Back in 2016, Senator Joni Ernst visited Kosovo and spoke about its importance.
