DES MOINES – Gov. Kim Reynolds on Friday announced her appointment of Kathleen Law to serve as an appointed member of the State Judicial Nominating Commission. Law fills a vacancy created by the resignation of Dr. Christina Taylor on Thursday.
Law, of Des Moines, is an attorney at Nyemaster Goode PC. She received her undergraduate degree from William Penn University and her law degree from Drake University. Law has been active in numerous leadership roles in the Iowa State Bar Association. In 2014, she received the Award of Merit from the Association’s Young Lawyers Division.
Law’s appointment is effective immediately. She will participate in the current process to select nominees for appointment to the Iowa Supreme Court for the vacancy that occurred when Justice Daryl Hecht resigned.
