Doris E. Price, 88, of Mason City passed away Monday, November 26, 2018 at Mercy Medical Center- North Iowa.
A Graveside Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, November 30, 2018 at Memorial Park Cemetery, Mason City Iowa. Per her wishes, Doris’ body has been cremated.
In honor of Doris’ dedication to the St. Jude Foundation, her family suggests memorials be made to the Doris E. Price Memorial Fund to be donated in her honor.
Doris Elaine Anderson was born on October 29, 1930 in Mason City, the daughter of John and Mable (Blake) Anderson. Growing up in Mason City, Doris attended Mason City High School. On August 16, 1947 she married the love of her life, Harold K. Price. To this union, three children were born: Julie, Kathryn and Harold JR. Together they raised their family in Mason City. For almost 20 years, Doris worked night shift as a Nurse’s Aide at Mercy Medical Center.
Doris enjoyed spending summers at the lake in Wisconsin where she and Harold bought a cabin. Together the family enjoyed the outdoors, boating, fishing and exploring. In her spare time, Doris sewed, knitted, and crocheted many items to share with her family.
Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Julie (Merlin) Gorder of Dows, Kathryn Renshaw of Dover, Ohio, and Harold K. Jr. (Connie) Price of Mason City; grandchildren: Jane Vanasdahl, Shelly (Lonnie) Fox, Emily Propst, Sarah (James) Birke, Lindsey (Rick) Hammond, Kristin (Chad) Williams; great-grandchildren, Lane (Allie) Bryant, Melodee Birke, Elora Birke, Riley Bryant, Lilyann Bryant, and Zoey and Payton Williams; sisters, Marilyn Kittleson of Clear Lake and Karen (Gary) Bernhardt of Rockfalls; along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Preceding her in death is her husband, Harold Sr. in 2007, her parents, and her sister Lavonne Johnston.
