Porn star’s lawyer chastises Senator Grassley for promise of investigation

Charles Grassley

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The lawyer gaining fame for representing a porn star who had relations with President Trump and a woman who made claims against Brett Kavanaugh is striking back today against Senator Chuck Grassley of Iowa after he promised an investigation into statements.

Late last month, Republican Senator Charles Grassley of Iowa referred Julie Swetnick and her attorney Michael Avenatti to the Justice Department for criminal investigation relating to a potential conspiracy to provide materially false statements to Congress and obstruct a congressional committee investigation, three separate crimes, in the course of considering Justice Brett M. Kavanaugh’s nomination to the Supreme Court of the United States.

“Avenatti publicized his client’s allegations of drug- and alcohol-fueled gang rapes in the 1980s,” Grassley said in a press statement announcing the investigation.

This morning, Avenatti struck back at Grassley, saying, “another week has gone by and still NOTHING has happened on your BS request for a criminal investigation. Are you this incompetent? And how about your ridiculous report where you claim there is “evidence” but then provide none. Where’s the beef Chuck? #Pathetic.”

So far, no official announcement of an investigation by the Justice Department appears to have been announced.

Avenatti also represents Stormi Daniels, a porn star and dancer who had relations with President Trump.
