RURAL WORTH COUNTY – An Albert Lea woman will likely hide her alleged weed much more carefully after a brush with Worth county law enforcement this weekend.
On Saturday, October 27, 2018 at 1:54 AM, a Worth County Deputy was following a vehicle traveling west on 510th Street west of Cardinal Avenue when the vehicle stopped on the shoulder of the roadway. The deputy approached the stopped vehicle and spoke with the driver, identified as 28-year-old Shalayna Dee Belden of Albert Lea, Minnesota. While speaking with Belden, the deputy observed a baggy containing marijuana sticking out of her shirt pocket.
A search of the vehicle was conducted. Two pipes containing marijuana and needles were found in Belden’s purse. Belden was arrested and charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance 1st Offense a serious misdemeanor and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia a simple misdemeanor.
