MASON CITY – Newman Catholic School in Mason City will host its 23rd annual God’s Portion Day beginning on Sunday, November 4th. It is the school’s largest fundraiser.

Organizers hope to raise at least $300,000 from the family-friendly event. That money will come from raffles, live and silent auction bidding, kid’s fun alley, class baskets, bake sale and donations from local businesses and community members.

This year’s raffles include a $10,000 cash prize, an alumni raffle, farm fresh beef and a holiday cheer wagon. All raffle drawings will be drawn after the live auction.

There will be activities for children ages four through fifth grade from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., and while the children are playing, their parents can spend the day bidding.

A total of 291 items will be included in the silent and live auctions. All will be auctioned in the high school gym over the course of the day. The live auction begins at 11:00 am and continues until all items are sold. Unique auction items as a brand new 2017 Jeep renegade, one week Florida vacation stay, Shrimp boil for a party of 25, tree house party highlight the live auction.

The silent auction begins at 10:30 and continues until 3:00 p.m. New items are brought out for display and bidding every 30 minutes.

All silent and live auction activities will be at the school’s gymnasium.

Each grade from kindergarten through twelfth grade will have a class basket that will be auctioned off during the live auction.
