Treasurer Pat Wright says “desperate” opponent Natasha Lewerke “aimed low … hit target”

MASON CITY – The two ladies vying for Treasurer in Cerro Gordo county won’t likely be sitting down to share tea and strumpets anytime soon, as incumbent Pat Wright issued a statement today saying her opponent is hitting below the belt after an explosive NIT interview and other alleged actions.

Wednesday afternoon, incumbent Democratic Treasurer for Cerro Gordo county, Pat Wright, released the following statement:

“The facts plainly show that my desperate opponent has aimed low, and she hit her target. Things like what she’s doing discourage good people from participating in democracy, and that’s sad.”

Pat Wright, Treasurer and acting Auditor

This statement comes on the heels of a Globe Gazette story published Sunday in which they released possibly hurtful details of emails that were exchanged between Republican Natasha Lewerke and other co-workers in the Treasurer’s Office in 2015. The emails disparaged other co-workers. Mrs. Lewerke, who worked in the Treasurer’s Office for 10 years, claims to have apologized and wants to move on from the email debacle, and said as much in an explosive NIT interview conducted that very evening in which she leveled accusations of her own.

Pressed for detail by NIT on today’s statement, Treasurer Wright was asked “is this statement in connection to Natasha Lewerke’s interview with NIT or something else she has done?”

Treasurer Wright responded, “Both.”

NIT then asked, “Pat, you include the line ‘what she’s doing’ …. this leads me to think present tense … can you describe the current actions of your opponent that you are referencing, please? Has her camp requested public information from the courthouse?”

Treasurer Wright responded, “Matt, Those questions are best answered by Natasha Lewerke.”

Contacted for details, Natasha Lewerke told NIT, “I did 2 radio commercials…only 1 of which has aired. It just hit the radio today. I know that there are a lot of frustrations out there based on her releasing those emails.”

Election night is November 6.  Votes are being taken now at the courthouse.

Lewerke and Pat Wright are both bad for County Government.

why would they sit down for strumpets?

6 months investigated = 1500 bullying, discrimination emails on government time and computer, divided by 4 weeks in a month, divided by 5 work days= 12.5 EMAILS A DAY!!!!! EVERY HOUR OF EVERY DAY this lady is thinking bullying and degrading things about people AND ACTING on those thoughts. This is a lifestyle of this lady not a once in a while bad talk…… This is a pattern of a VERY sick person.A TICKING TIME BOMB. Also a huge liability to the city for lawsuits and discrimination, unsafe work place. She needs to be forced to step down ASAP.

Lionel, while Ms. Lewerke’s e-mails were not proper so too is Ms. Wright’s leadership not proper by creating the atmosphere for this to go on. The unethical conduct is and has been prevalent in the Treasurers office then and NOW so using it as a yardstick for judgement is of no use. At least Ms Lewerke’s has acknowledged her role in this while Ms Wright has not. We will vote for Ms. Lewerke.

Dear Armchair Psychiatrist : Since when does a “leader” get the blame for employees’ SICK actions? How many U.S. Army soldiers are guilty of illegal actions? Is the ARMY to blame? What about all the white-collar thefts from places of employment? Are the bosses responsible? If they KNEW about it, don’t you think they would have stopped it? How naive/simplistic some people are !!!

Power & Responsibility is a package deal and has so been since the beginning of time. Your organization, your fault, simple as that.

Government employees are always held to a higher standard of conduct than private employees, because they are being paid by tax dollars. Under any employment standard of ethical conduct Lewerke’s behavior demanded her termination. What baffles me is why her wasting government time at the office belittling a coworker could go on for so long. Now she seeks to run that department?? Ridicules. VOTE Pat Wright!!!

“What baffles me is why her wasting government time at the office belittling a coworker could go on for so long. … VOTE Pat Wright!!!”

You are contradiction yourself. Pat Wright is the very reason Lewerke could go on so long – she should have been fired along with her. Neither of them are fit to run that office!

That’s just your opinion, and we all know what opinions are like. And yes, I am one. As of yet, Wright hasn’t been accused of any wrong doings at her job. To me that means that she is doing her job.

When something goes wrong in your organization, as a leader it is ALWAYS your fault. That’s basic mgmnt 101 – anyone successful in a senior position knows it. Wright is lucky that she is running against an unelectable bully-wannabee.

Too much menopause induced gossip in that office. It needs a 50% workforce reduction and a result oriented alpha male to run the show.

Okay people lets take the 2nd place person for county auditors race and put him or in as the county treasure or better yet take the first and second place vote getters in the auditors race and dismantle the treasures office then combine these two offices and have the auditor and assistant run both. Sounds different but what the heck give it a try

SAD!!! Natasha is still deflecting–plain and simple. It doesn’t really matter who released or printed your emails does it? YOU thought it, YOU WROTE IT!

She is ONLY SORRY SHE GOT CAUGHT!! Character, morality, respect and leadership are absent qualities in this candidate and people are aware of it now.

You might not care for, or want to vote for Pat Wright if she gave you an answer you didn’t like–but she IS fair, treats everyone equally, and is ALWAYS respectful.

Natasha might feel she is a better candidate—but she should have been a better PERSON.

Right is right, even if no one is doing it. WRONG IS WRONG, even if EVERYONE is doing it!!

this is just a normal election, not about how much better I am for the job, its about how much “mud” can I sling.

from having a personal experience at the courthouse I can say Pat isn’t there to help. I had a registration problem and after explaining the problem to Pat she said she was right. She didn’t help with a thing, I was left to contact the other state and get the explination of the law there on a certified paper and present to Pat and then she had a hard time saying she was wrong about it and go ahead with the transaction. A good treasurer would have checked farther into it with a simple phone call like I made instead of throwing me out the door. In the end I won cause it was the law in the other state and she was wrong. The girl at the window that I first started with was totally rude and at a cpl of times refused to even talk to me anymore. Have to say its just a smidge better then when ethel ridgeway was there. anyone remember that, when u could count on 4 trips before you could change a registration, remember that???

Maybe you have read my post from the other article…

Ms. Wright disappeared into her office after I started questioning why they were telling me something different than the state’s website and employee in D.M.

Was the “girl at the window” the dirty blond at station #2 with the permanent poor attitude?

No Accountability for direct reports by the Manager. No Performance or Metrics Tracking until after the fact –such as the number of Emails, Phone calls, and/ or Transactions completed per day, week, etc- or things would have shown up. Times have changed and it’s HIGH time to review the processes in ALL the departments. Time Studies and Continuous Improvement starts with the MANAGER! Knowing the Operation is only part of the Job. The others that were Accessories to the E-Mails should have been let go as well. One of you will win this time; but don’t bet on the next.

They all should b let go Fessler included!!

+1

Unfortunately, neither Candidate has what it takes to properly manage that office. Natasha does not have the charactercharacter. Pat does not have the Leadership. The Security of the Office is always in jeopardy under Wright. You cant have one password for the entire office, when the user name is the first letter of the first name and then the last name. Anyone could get into any computer. And, as far s the $ 284,000 shortfall. If Wright had been on top of those transactions, it would not have happened. If this were a private business, the idea of the ” Buck Stops Here”.. would be in place. And, the way she deals with issues and people, she would have been fired. The only way for a public official to be held accountable is to VOTE. And this time…we don’t have a qualified candidate.

Alas, true. I guess we’ll have to vote the lesser of evils. It’s a shame though – that office needs a clean sweep from top to bottom.

Hey Matt. Whats a strumpets?

How did Natasha Lewerke go low when all she did in her interview was tell the truth! The truth must hurt pattie!!! Go Natasha you have my vote

…I think the writer was looking for the word “crumpets” (a form of cookie, cracker, something to have with tea)!

If the author claims to be a journalist he should know the difference between a British tea cake and a whore.

I know the difference. One you eat.

Google strumpet. You eat both.

An explosive NIT interview. My guts hurt so bad from laughing, I had to take a nap.

What are “strumpets”?

Natasha Lewerke worked with Patricia Wright for 10 years. I bet Natasha Lewerke knows some things that Patricia doesn’t want to see get out in the public eye.

So let me get this straight. Pat Wright bashes Natasha Lewerke in the globe on Sunday. Natasha Lewerke does an online video interview on Sunday night owning her emails and points out the FACT that she was cleared from the STATE auditor of doing nothing wrong and she is the reason our democracy is in trouble? Pat Wright how do you look in the mirror!?

I must have missed the article in the Sunday paper, where Pat Wright bashed Lewerke. What exactly are you referring to?

Hard to miss. The rag GLOB blasted it all over the front page. It just show what a miserable excuse for a newspaper it is. They didn’t even give Lewerke a opportunity to respond. It was a hit job pure and simple and of course Hardy was involved.

Really, i have read the article a few time and have yet to find where Pat is bashing anyone. What i see is Natasha’s true colors though.

You are correct Carl. Pat Wright did not bash Natasha Lewerke. Lewerke bashed the girls in the Treasurers office. And to this day has not apologized to anyone. She has lied and lied but that should surprise anyone who knows her. Does the word Narcissist mean anything?

Something in the interview and the radio ads has the Democrats very afraid that much is crystal clear.

RED WAVE ON THE WAY

Lewerke has my vote..

Right has my vote!

And ours !!

It’d be real interesting to see just how many of the Lewerke-support posts originates from the same, single Iowa DOT IP address. I mean, it certainly can be debated if Treasurers office needs new leadership, but after GG made Lewerkes email correspondence public, what, besides a full frontal lobotomy, could make even friends and family think she is suitable for the job?

One thing is for sure, Wright is not qualified to run the department. She is a cheat and a liar. She turned Democrat just to get elected.

Lol no she didn’t. Republicans are scrambling after Lewerke lied about the emails, 6 months investigated 1500 degrading emails on government time divided by 4 weeks In a month, divided by 5 work days= 12.5 bullying, degrading emails A DAY!! That is a lifestyle not a mistake talking bad. This lady every hour of every day is thinking BULLYING thoughts and ACTING on them every hour all day ??? She appears to be mentally unstable. She needs help!!
