MASON CITY – A Mason City search warrant lead police to the discovery of firearms, cash and a large amount of meth and one man was arrested.
On September 24, 2018 members of the North Central Iowa Narcotics Task Force executed a search warrant based on an on-going narcotics investigation. A search warrant was served at 1314 North Jersey Avenue in Mason City along with a vehicle stop linked to the investigation. During the search officers confiscated .
Officers arrested Frank Salvador Alvarado, age 46, of Mason City and charged Alvarado with the following offenses:
1. Possession with Intent to Deliver Methamphetamine, Class B Felony
2. Drug Tax Stamp Violation, Class D Felony
3. Possession of a Firearm as a Felon, Class D Felony
Alvarado is being held in the Cerro Gordo County Jail pending an appearance before a magistrate judge. This investigation is continuing and more arrests are anticipated.
The Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Department was assisted by the Clear Lake Police Department, Mason City Police Department., Iowa Division of Narcotics Enforcement, and the North Central Iowa Narcotics Task Force Special Operations Group.
