Clive, Iowa police find two skimming devices at Casey’s convenience stores

CLIVE, IOWA – Police in the Des Moines suburb or Clive have found two skimming devices at Casey’s convenience stores, they announced today.

The Clive Police Department wanted to alert the public of the discovery of three skimming devices found today at two Casey’s stores located in Clive. At 07:37 AM, an Officer was dispatched to 2070 NW 100th St Clive, in reference to a skimmer device located inside one of the gas pumps by the manager. Later at 08:53 AM, two more devices were found at the Casey’s located at 2250 Woodland Ave. Clive. All devices have been recovered and a investigation is pending. The public is advised to contact their financial institutions if they have used either of these two locations to get gas within the last couple of days. The skimmers that have been found were connected to the pumps in a manner that would yield credit/debit card information along with pin numbers if used.
Tips:

1. If you choose to use pay at the pump, always use the credit feature to pay for fuel. Never input a pin# or used the debit card feature at the pump.
2. Go inside the store and pay for your fuel at the desk.
3. Check the pump for security tape. Never use a pump that has security tape that has been tampered with(tampered security tape would have “VOID” showing on the tape).
