Reckless ATV driver chased and arrested in Charles City; man faces felony

CHARLES CITY – An alleged reckless ATV driver was chased and arrested by police in Charles City and now the man faces a felony charge.

The incident took place on July 3, 2018. At about 3:02 PM that day, Charles City police responded to the area of Clark Street and the Charley Western Trail for a report of a subject on an ATV driving recklessly. Police located the subject driving down a sidewalk at a high rate of speed near Southview Avenue. An officer tried to stop the subject, be he refused to stop and led police on a chase until he stopped in the area of North Main Street and North Grand Avenue.

As a result of the incident, police arrested 28-year-old Charles James Chapman of Charles City on 11 traffic-related and other infractions. In addition, he was charged with operating while intoxicated, driving while revoked, driving while suspended, trespassing on railroad property, and felony eluding. He was jailed and soon released, pending a court date.

Floyd county sheriff’s office and Charles City Park and Rec Department assisted with the incident.

Take your pick – mex’s from mexico or welfare students from illinois – both cost the American taxpayers the same. And illinois IS paying the 1500 bucks to leave their rauncy state because their welfare money is depleted. Nice huh?

I think it must have taken that guy from Illinois with his $1500 lump sum to basically leave the state -no kidding- and drive his mason city chamber of commerce vehicle this far.
