Two men arrested for vandalism to cabin in Mitchell county

OSAGE – Two men have been arrested for vandalizing a cabin in Mitchell county.

The Mitchell County Sheriff’s Office has arrested Ryan Lynn Root and Jon Dale Crews in regards to the Pinicon Alders vandalism case. The Sheriff’s Office would like to thank the public for their assistance with finding, and arresting, those believed to be involved.

Back in March, the Mitchell County Conservation Board sought the public’s help in finding the persons responsible for damaging the Pinicon Alders Cabin along with the outhouse and multiple signs.  Apparently, a pickup truck was used to cause some or all of the damage incurred on the property.  Due to these damages the board is  unable to rent out the cabin for an extended time until repairs are made.

Root will be arraigned on July 17 on charges of accessory to a felony and obstructing prosecution or defense. Crews will also be arraigned that day on a charge of first-degree criminal mischief, a felony.
