RURAL BREMER COUNTY – A Northern Iowa woman was jailed after an alleged drunk driving crash that injured one person.
On May 12th, 2018 at 8:26 PM, the Bremer County Sheriff’s Office responded to a personal injury accident in the 2700 block of Whitetail Avenue. The investigation determined that the driver of the vehicle, 20-year-old McKenna Meinecke of Tripoli, Iowa, was southbound when she lost control of her vehicle and rolled once before coming to a rest in the roadway. A passenger in the vehicle, Kurtis Walvatne of Tripoli was transported to Community Memorial Hospital in Sumner with possible minor injuries.
Meinecke was placed under arrest for operating while intoxicated 1st offense and she was also issued a citation for failure to maintain control.
The Bremer County Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by Oran First Responders, Oran Fire Department, Fairbank Ambulance, and the Fairbank Fire Department.
