Fort Dodge man arrested after Casey’s store robbery

FORT DODGE – A Casey’s store was recently robbed in Fort Dodge, and police there investigated and now have a suspect locked up.

On May 14, 2018 at 5:15 AM, the Webster County Telecommunication Center received a 911 call from Casey’s at 1230 3rd Ave NW, indicating that they had just been robbed. Fort Dodge Police along with the Webster County Sheriff’s Dept responded to the scene where they learned that a male presented the cashier with a written note demanding money. After receiving an undisclosed amount, the male ran out of the store heading West. Law enforcement did a thorough search for the suspect in the surrounding area, but was unable to locate him. The suspect was described as a taller white male, with short brown hair, wearing a dark cloth mask to cover his face, dark sweatshirt, grey or dark pants and black shoes/boots.

As a result of the ongoing investigation into this matter, the Fort Dodge Police Department located and arrested 36-year-old Jason Daniel Onderdonck of Fort Dodge. Onderdonck was arrested and charged with second-degree robbery and booked into the Webster County Jail, where he remains at this time awaiting a court appearance.
