DES MOINES – Gov. Kim Reynolds attended the 3rd Annual Cyber Symposium at Camp Dodge in Johnston last Wednesday.
The symposium, hosted by the Governor’s Cyber Working Group, included presentations from federal partners, critical infrastructure sectors, state agencies and the private sector to learn about the important work being done to protect our critical infrastructure.
The Governor’s Cyber Working Group was established as part of Executive Order 87 and consists of a multi-agency partnership including the Office of the Chief Information Officer, Iowa Department of Homeland Security and Emergency Management, Iowa Communications Network, Iowa National Guard and the Iowa Department of Public Safety.
Gov. Reynolds presented certificates of recognition to high school and college students who successfully competed in two national cybersecurity competitions. The competitions, CyberStart and GirlsGoCyberStart, are a collaborative effort with the SANS Institute to inspire the next generation of cybersecurity professionals.
