Possible threat investigated at Clear Lake Middle School

CLEAR LAKE – A possible threat was investigated this week at Clear Lake Middle School.

Tuesday morning, Clear Lake school district administration was made aware of a possible threat made by a student. Mr. Ludwig, Mr. Murphy, a Clear Lake police officer, and Superintendent Doug Gee were all involved in investigating the situation. After a thorough investigation, they determined that there was not a viable threat. They then met with all of the 6th grade students to talk with them and reassure them that they were safe.

After the incident, Superintendent Gee said, “I would like to assure you that student safety is always our number one priority. When we receive information about the possibility of a threat, our role is to respond immediately and thoroughly investigate. I want to also assure you that if at any time we believe your son or daughter is in danger we will follow our crisis response procedures and notify you as quickly as possible. Thankfully, this situation did not warrant that type of response.”
