CHARLES CITY — A Charles City woman arrested this year after police charged her with theft from a bank she worked at is set to be sentenced next month.
Charles City police brought charges of first-degree theft and second degree theft against 33-year-old Cassandra Marie Lane of Charles City this month. The alleged crimes of transferring thousands of dollars in funds belonging to others at the First Security Bank and Trust into an account connected to her began in October of 2016 until August of 2017.
Lane was arrested in January and soon posted a cash bond and was released. Court records now show she is set to be sentenced in Floyd county district court on May 14 after entering a guilty plea to the courts.
