DES MOINES – Gov. Kim Reynolds accepted the Iowa State Sheriffs’ and Deputies’ Association (ISSDA) Gold Star Award on Tuesday at the Iowa State Capitol in Des Moines.
Recipients are selected for this honor by sheriffs and deputies of the ISSDA Legislative Committee and Board of Directors, who work side by side with policy makers each year on public safety and law enforcement issues that directly impact Iowans.
Gov. Reynolds was selected to receive the award because of her active support of a bill during the 2017 legislative session that made using electronic devices while driving a primary offense.
