FOREST CITY – The Puckerbrush Days Committee of Forest City has set dates and released an entertainment schedule for its 2018 celebration, which is scheduled to take place from Thursday, July 19 to Sunday, July 22, 2018.
Headlining the weekend of entertainment is Pianopalooza, a Des Moines-based piano cover group with a full band that covers music from the 1950s to the current hits of today. Pianopalooza is returning to Puckerbrush Days after performing at the festival in 2016 and 2017. The band is scheduled to perform on Friday evening, July 20.
Additionally, the Puckerbrush Committee has booked Russ Lachney, a solo acoustic performer from Algona, performing on Thursday, July 19; and Farm Rock of Shell Rock, a cover band specializing in new country and rock, performing on Saturday, July 21. All street dances will again be free admission, and open to all ages.
Event-goers can also plan to see several events from previous years, such as the Thursday afternoon Farmer’s Market, Pet Parade, Battle of the Businesses on Friday before the street dance, as well as the Saturday morning parade, craft show, food vendors, and fireworks at Pammel Park on Saturday evening.
Additionally, the Puckerbrush Days Committee is looking for businesses and individuals who are interested in sponsoring the celebration. For those interested in becoming a sponsor, or for general information about the celebration, please contact Kathy Rollefson at the Forest City Chamber of Commerce.
The mission of Puckerbrush Days is to promote community pride and showcase Forest City to the region with an assertive, community-powered collaboration between local businesses, schools, churches, service clubs, and volunteers.
